As I sit with my feet up, laundry folded, wine near, tv spewing out news and laptop on lap of course... I contemplate the removal of my kitchen wallpaper. For those of you that don't know me all that well, I live in an all original Mid Century Ranch home. It's a dream. Seriously. All the way down to my asbestos tile kitchen floor, red formica and floor to ceiling windows- I adore my home. Our plans were never to change a thing. I have changed my mind about the wallpaper in my kitchen though. It's horrid actually. Alongside our real wood cabinets with big shiny knobs, hangs a paper abomination. The paper is white in background, and littered with big showy pink and red flowers. It makes my galley kitchen with its sweet little alcove, seem cluttered and claustrophobic.
My journey on DIY sites has begun. Do I steam it? Dry Strip it? Soak it? Leave it the hell alone?
Is this going to be one of those ambitious projects that I begin amidst child rearing, work, housekeeping, socializing, that I never ever finish? Reminds me of scrapbooking. I won't go into that. At any rate, I will post photos when I begin. Which reminds me- I never posted a photo of our kitty litter cake. I'll get to that, promise.
While I'm at it, let me share my newest fragrance obsession by one of my favorite fragrance houses. This is definitely going to be on my list for Santa. Will someone please tell my husband?
